Only days left in 2017. So what else am I supposed to do but write down my goals for 2018 and share them here on the blog.

Love my body more through food

I want to get more in tune with my appetite and my body’s needs as far as nutrition goes. In 2017 I started a book called Intuitive eating. I absolutely love everything that the authors stand for. In 2018 I want to finish that book (I am so bad about starting books and never finishing them) and put into practice the methods behind intuitive eating. I also need to drink more water.

Be more consistent with my blog posts

I’m pretty good about getting a few posts out a week, but I’d like to stick to a stricter schedule of posting Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Routine is a good thing, and I have yet to find that with the blog. Good things take time though, and I’m taking my time to find out what blogging style and schedule works best for me.

Share more posts on topics I’m passionate about

I started this blog with posts focusing on nutrition and fitness, and since I’ve been accepted into rewardStyle I’ve let those types of posts fall by the wayside. Don’t get me wrong, I love being a rewardStyle publisher! That was one of my goals when I started this blog. However, I need to remind myself why I started this blog and get back to those posts that I love so much to write. I’ll still be sharing plenty of outfits though, because I love a good deal and I would change outfits three times a day if I could.

PUT MY PHONE DOWN

Milton and I work very hard to have an uninterrupted dinner each evening. We take only our plates and glasses of wine to the table, pray and bless the food, and enjoy each other’s conversations. I have noticed that we don’t do the same when we go to bed. Once we slide under the covers we are practically glued to our phones giving Instagram one last scroll and catching up on the day’s snapchats. That’s no way to end the day. Plus, it prevents you from getting your best sleep (screen time before bed is no bueno).

Just do me

We don’t realize how much we compare ourselves to others, strangers and friends alike. Social media has provided a place for individuals to share a highlight reel of their lives, and most of us are fooled into believing others have it made while we do not. I’m guilty of only posting my best images on my feed. However, I try my hardest to be real in my stories, and hopefully share things that will make you laugh and relate. I’m also guilty of comparing myself to other bloggers and wondering why my success isn’t as great as theirs (another post on that soon). What a waste of time to have those thoughts! Happiness comes when you are true to yourself, and success comes when you’re happy with what you’re doing (for me at least).

Successes of 2017

I did something I have been thinking about for years! I started this blog and began to create fun content to share. I didn’t realize until after I started blogging that I was in need of a creative outlet. In 2014 I began following a lot of bloggers on Instagram and really admired their work. Scrolling through my feed (which was chronological back then, the good days) I couldn’t help but picture myself creating content just as eye catching and relatable. It has been a slow and steady growth, but I appreciate it so much.

A few weeks ago I started training for my first half marathon. This was a goal I set out for myself in 2017 and even wrote about in this post. Just the other night I finally pulled the trigger and signed up for the race. I share more about my half marathon training in this post.

This past year has been full of so many other successes that I won’t take up 1000 words of a blog post to share every single one of them. Thank you so much for reading my life updates for the last year! Yes, I’ve been blogging for almost a full year. I’m so excited for 2018 and all that it holds for Cait and Co.
