And just like that…we’ve turned our calendars to November and radio stations are already playing Christmas tunes. I’m not the kind of gal that counts down the number of Fridays until Christmas, but I do buy peppermint creamer and Shiner Cheer as soon as they hit the shelves. And, I do start buying gifts ASAP. Hey, if there’s a great sale at Kendra Scott and a pair of earrings my MIL would like I’m going to snag them at a good price!

You can bet that I am already gearing up for the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Stuff like this makes me anxious, so I do whatever I can to plan ahead. While the look I’m wearing above is the perfect outfit to fight the Black Friday crowds (I call it “athletic chic” or “fancy athleisure”), I will be doing all this shopping from my comfy couch. Heck, I might even wear this outfit while sitting on the couch! No need to throw elbows to grab that perfect purse you’ve been eyeing for your mom! Oh, arm party credit goes to my mom. I didn’t pack much jewelry so I raided my mom’s jewelry boxes before shooting these photos.

Here are my top four tips to prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping:

  1. Sign up for emails from your favorite retailers. This is a chance to get a discount on your order (if this is the first time you have signed up for their email list), and this is the best way to stay in the know of what sales they are running for the holidays.
  2. Have a list ready for the gifts you need. Write down each person that you need to shop for. Next to their name brainstorm some gift ideas and where to buy those items. This helps you narrow down which websites to browse on Cyber Monday.
  3. Ebates. Not a plug. I’ve been using Ebates for a few years and have received a handful of checks with cash back from shopping. It’s like an extra little discount.
  4. Facebook is also a great way to find sales. Follow your favorite brands and stores to get notifications of new posts and sales.

Stores that always run good Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals (that I plan on shopping):

Baublebar

J Crew

Kendra Scott

Nordstrom

Shopbop

Kate Spade
