3 Types of Sandals You Need for This Summer

1 | Waterproof Slide Sandal

I love my waterproof sandals. Mine are Birkenstocks, and are made of a rubber/foam material (specifically EVA which stands for ethylene-vinyl acetate) much like Crocs. I like to call them Birkencrocs. I wear them every single day around the house and the yard. I have two colors: hot pink and metallic copper. A friend came down for a beach day and had a pair on. They are just what I needed for being on my feet throughout the day with Caroline. My feet are fairly flat and these give me good arch support. I’ve had mine for over a year now and I don’t know what I would without them. Yes, they’re that awesome.

2 |Studded Sandal

Who hasn’t dreamt of owning a pair of Valentino studded sandals? Last summer I found a great dupe on Amazon, but I think Valentino caught onto them because I cannot find them anywhere. The current studded sandal on Amazon is a dupe of the Valentino jelly thong. I have yet to try the dupe version, but I am so tempted because they’re only $20 and would be very cute for the beach. Luckily, the stud trend has spread and lots of affordable brands are making studded sandals. A studded sandal can dress up any outfit without having to put on a heel.

3 | Strappy Platform

I’m using the term “platform” lightly. Maximum 2 inches, okay, haha. I have some of those super hot Marc Fisher sandals from two summers ago and I only wear them when Caroline is with a babysitter. I am sure I’d break my neck or ankle if I tried to chase Caroline around in tall shoes. RIP to the days of owning a pair of sexy wedges in every color. Platforms seem to give you just a hint of cool, which is what this mom needs from time to time. I bought this Steve Madden platforms last year and have really enjoyed them. They’re comfy and currently on sale.
