The best part about moving…all of the floors, countertops, and mirrors were spotless. Naturally, after a couple of weeks the grime and dust started to appear. That’s just part of everyday life. I’ve been used to cleaning an 800 sq foot apartment for the past few years, which now seems far more manageable than 3 bedrooms and 2 baths!
Pictured above you can see some of my favorite cleaning products. The #1 thing you should keep in your kitchen are Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. This isn’t a sponsored post, I just love those things that much. We do a lot of cooking on the stove top and I clean all of the surfaces with these as soon as we are finished. It is so much easier to clean grease ASAP rather than letting it sit.
To stay on top of things I have decided to make a cleaning schedule. Woohoo! Haha, trust me, I’m not exactly excited about it, but it seems like a necessary evil. I honestly love lists and schedules. There is something so satisfying about crossing off a task. So maybe this schedule will make cleaning a little easier (fingers crossed).
I want to go into detail about a couple of things I do in my home that seem to help out a lot.
- If you follow me on Instagram you’re probably aware that my husband has quite the mustache. He trims his mustache / shaves his face about once a week. I keep a roll of paper towels underneath his sink for him to clean with after a shave. The last thing we need is a clogged sink 🙂
- I keep a hand-held vacuum in the bathroom to do a quick clean when I notice the floor getting dirty. Sometimes I even vacuum my countertops with it. No joke.
- Take the proper precautions when cleaning with bleach. Remove all floor mats, towels or anything that you DON’T want bleached. I learned this the hard way. Also, wear gloves. Most grocery stores carry rubber gloves that can be reused, or single use gloves.
What helps you keep your home clean? I’d love to hear your tips and tricks!
