Since moving to Galveston I have had the chance to blog full time. What started as a hobby has become my day to day, and I’m very lucky to have the opportunity to put so much time and effort into something I love. I want to share my daily blog schedule. While not every day is the same, this is what my typical day looks like. Sometimes I sleep in and get a pretty late start. Other times I drive around town and get lost browsing at different stores. It has been a challenge to adjust to such a free schedule. I realized that I need structure in order to make the most of my time. My schedule could use a little work, but this is what I’m working with at the time being…
Sweater: Chic Wish | Jeans: Nordstrom | Bag: Barrington Gifts | Booties: Nordstrom | Bracelets: Baublebar, Kendra Scott | Earrings: Baublebar | Watch: Overstock
8:00 AM
Make my bed and turn on Good Morning America. I like to wake up around 7:30 or 8 am if I can, but most days it ends up being a little later when I start my day. That’s because I wake up around 5:30 to get the coffee pot started for Milton and get him out of the door by six o’clock. I’m not going to lie, after that I go right back to sleep for a good two hours.
9:00 AM
At this point I’m on the couch, coffee in hand, and computer in my lap. I always turn on Kelly and Ryan for some comic relief while I answer emails. During this hour I finish up my blog post for the day if I have one by making sure all of the right products are tagged and images are placed where I want them. And don’t forget breakfast. Milton and I live on frozen breakfast sandwiches. I used to get up and make him scrambled eggs each morning like a good wife until I found an easy out. He loves the breakfast sandwiches just as much as I do, though! We always get the croissant kind because the biscuits tend to get dry.
This is also when I promote my blog posts across all social media channels. I choose the best photo from the post, link all products through LIKEtoKNOW.it, and share on Instagram, Instagram stories, Facebook, and Pinterest.
10:00 AM
Time for a run. Weather permitting, this is when I put on my running shoes and go for a jog on the seawall. This is, by far, my favorite part of the day. I get to zone out and let my mind go while jogging next to the gulf. While I’m out and about in town I’ll run my errands. When I get home I make a sandwich for lunch and shower off from my run.
12:00 – 3:00 PM
At this point of my day I’ll get dressed and head to a coffee shop or I’ll set up at the kitchen table with my computer, planner, and notebook. I would love so much to have a designated working space for the blog, but our apartment doesn’t exactly have extra room for a desk. Luckily, our kitchen table faces the gulf, so the view isn’t bad. I like to update my planner with any posts that have recently gone live, and write down post ideas for the future. I take small sticky notes and write down blog titles, then place them in my calendar when I’d like to post them. This is my form of drafting my editorial calendar. I’m sure a lot of people prefer a digital calendar, but I keep it old school and enjoy handwriting things and crossing items off when I’ve completed them. I also spend this time browsing other blogs to interact with other bloggers.
5:00 PM
Typically this is time to start dinner. Mondays are my big cooking nights. I typically grocery shop on this day so I cook all of the chicken for us to eat on throughout the week. I like to cook vegetables fresh most nights, so I just cook enough for dinner that night. Milton gets home around this time. He will typically workout and then we have dinner around 6:00. After dinner we take our wine to the couch and wind down with some mindless television (The Bachelor on Mondays, bless his heart) or Netflix.
7:00 PM
If I didn’t go for a run I’ll take a shower around this time. I like to get on Pinterest in the evenings. First, I see which of my pins are performing best. If I have any old posts that haven’t been pinned I will do this now. I do a lot of pinning straight to/from Pinterest. If I stumble on another blog that I love I’ll be sure to pin it to one of my boards. Recently, I started using Tailwind to schedule my pins and share my content with other bloggers. I haven’t seen an increase in my traffic from Pinterest quite yet, but I’m giving it time.
I will also jump back on Instagram to see what else is popping up. The non-chronilogical timeline makes it pretty much impossible to see what you’ve missed in the time you weren’t on the app (hard eye roll). I like to reply to all of my comments from the day, and ones that I might have missed from the day before.
This is when a lot of my tweets happen. I just recently upped my Twitter game. I tried live tweeting during The Bachelor for the first time this week and it was actually really fun. More live tweeting to come for sure!
9:00 PM
Since Milton gets up early most mornings, we try to put ourselves to bed around 9:00 or 9:30 pm. Milton falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow, and I typically lay in bed for a good 30 minutes before my eyes start to get droopy. I’m trying to spend less time on my phone once I get into bed and read a book instead. Sadly, that is easier said than done. I feel bad keeping my lamp on for too long if Milton is already asleep. Maybe I should invest in one of those goofy personal lights for reading in bed.
Then I get up and do it all over again the next day! Do you have a schedule that works really well for you? Or something that keeps you on track during the day? I am always looking for ways to become more productive, whether that’s getting out of the house to get some serious work done, or a good playlist to get me motivated.

Love this post! I love post like this because starting my own blog (hopefully going live soon!) it’s nice to see how everyone does their day. I do work full time and have a 2 1/2 yr old so time management is going to be a must for me! I did receive a blog planner from One Small Blonde that looks to be very helpful. I haven’t dug in too much since my blog is not life yet!

That’s so exciting! My blog has been live for a year and I’m still learning. Pinterest was my best friend while building my blog. So many girls have shared their experience blogging. I read as many posts as possible, and still do.

I totally purchased the booties from Nordstrom and love them! Thanks for turning me on to them. I have been searching for a pair with a bit of a heel and an opening near ankle.
I just read that you can get credit for the purchases. I really hope that my purchase linked from your page.

So glad you like them! I wear mine constantly. Yes, I’m sure it went through.
