I’m new to the blogging game, but I have been following quite a few blogging boss babes for a few years. When “Like to Know It” first launched I was obsessed. You mean these outfit details will come to my inbox and will be just clicks away from being mine? Amazing! It didn’t take long for my bank account to tell me to slow it down.
The thought of blogging was always in the back of my mind, but it took me a few years of convincing myself to give it a try. While wearing cute clothes and taking photos all the time seems fun, it’s super intimidating at first! You’re putting yourself online for everyone to see, which feels extremely vulnerable. Eventually, my will to blog became stronger than my fear, so I decided to jump into it.
Helping people and being a sort of coach or cheerleader for my friends has always brought me joy. A few years ago I was skiing in New Mexico, and I helped my best friend ski down a level blue mountain for the first time. I was so proud of her when she got to the bottom! I said, “Turn around and look at what you just conquered!” She told me how much my encouragement helped her, and it was so rewarding. I’ve been writing this blog to help encourage people. Everyone deserves to feel good about themselves! So, I hope I bring joy with every post that you read.
Sappiness aside, here is a list out my favorite bloggers that influenced me to start my own. Don’t be surprised, they’re mostly Texas ladies…
- Southern Curls and Pearls: If you follow any fashion bloggers I’m about 98% sure you follow this gal. Who doesn’t love her style…and that hair! Honestly, I have a slight girl crush.
- Lonestar Southern: Kate of Lonestar Southern is like the sweet girl next door. She is so down to earth and genuine in all her posts, and her smile is contagious. She’s also a fellow Texas Ex, Hook ‘Em!
- Chronicles of Frivolity: Katey was probably one of the first bloggers I started to follow. She’s a Fort Worth gal, so I knew her style would be similar to mine. Her Insta feed is my go-to for style inspo.
- For the Love of Fancy: I found Kate’s blog when I moved to Houston. I enjoyed following a local blogger for the sake of trends and shopping. Even though I no longer live in H-town I still love following her.
- Brighton the Day: Talk about personality. Brighton is so fun to follow on Insta, especially her stories.
