I first discovered shein.com about three or four years ago when I started following bloggers on Instagram. Some of my favorite bloggers posted affordable tops and dresses from Shein.com. My skepticism was rather high at first because their products shipped from overseas. The first order I made from them was a blanket scarf (that trendy one that everyone bought about two years ago). What could go wrong?! Scarves are one-size-fits-all, anyway. To my surprise, I was very satisfied! Yes, it took a hot minute for it to ship and finally arrive, but it was worth all $15 that I paid for the scarf. I have ordered so much stuff from SheIn since (if you follow me on Insta and LiketoKnow my photos you know).
My tips for shopping SheIn and getting a quality product:
Read the reviews
This is the best way to find out if the fit is wonky or if the fabric sucks. Customers have even shared pictures of how the garment fits along with their measurements! Pro tip: if you submit a review of a product you’ve purchased from them you’ll receive points toward your next purchase.
Read the garment details.
You’ll find what it is made out of here. The last thing you want is to be surprised by a super thin fabric. This isn’t always fail-proof, but it helps.
Use the Sizing Chart
This is my best tip. Measure yourself and compare to the sizing chart. Do not guess your size! I keep a tape measure in my purse for this exact reason. My coworkers would always know when I was online shopping because they’d hear the click of me opening my measuring tape. I will even pull it out when I’m trying to get an idea of how big a handbag is.
Questions about Shein:
How long does it take to ship?
Let’s just say SheIn requires a little patience. SheIn does their shipping like Amazon, items ship when they’re in stock so they may come in more than one package. From the time you place your order it takes about three days for a shipping confirmation. Once the package ships it can take seven days to get to your front door.
How do returns work?
You can return! You have up to 60 days after purchase (so when you receive that item receipt in your inbox). This is actually a really big time frame! If you pay the $1.99 shipping insurance your return is free. SheIn explains their return policy here:
