Last year was the first year I intentionally shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Crazy, but now I know what all the hype is about. You have the chance to get brand new fall fashion at discounted prices. I snagged some amazing basics and some super cute booties that I wore all fall (and winter) long. This year I’m even more pumped because I already know what I’ll be shopping for.
My biggest tip
Become a Nordstrom cardholder. As a cardholder you have early access to the sale before it goes public online. Lots of the most popular items sell out just during early access! So when it opens up to the public certain items are either no longer available, or you have to wait around for them to be restocked. Last year I had my eye on a free people plaid shirt, and I was silly not to buy it during early access. I put it in my cart three different times before they were able to fill my order. not making that mistake again.
Load up on basics
This is a great time to load up on basics. Last year I bought this tank and fell in love. I wished I bought it in like 10 different colors. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it makes another appearance in this year’s sale.
This lightweight cardigan is another favorite from last year. It’s the perfect weight to wear over a cami when it’s starting to cool off outside. I love to wear it at work when the office gets chilly.

Sorting a category by most popular will show you what most people are buying/shopping…and what is likely to sell out quick. These booties were one of the most popular pairs of shoes in the sale.
Save!
If you know you’re going to shop the Nsale, start saving your pennies now. I like to put a little money back from each paycheck. This helps prevent any buyers’ remorse. I know I am going to stock up on some good stuff, so I’m preparing my bank account. Skip out on the Starbucks and go with a home brew for a week or two. Anything helps.
