Rodeo Outfits

It is rodeo time in Houston, y’all. Either you are like me and you plan your outfits weeks in advance, or you just wing it last minute and change 10X before walking out the door. Here is some outfit inspo for this year’s rodeo season! Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo kicks off this weekend with the World’s Championship BBQ Contest, and runs through March 22nd.

A little background about me if you’re new ’round these parts. Around age twelve I got involved with my local FFA chapter and began showing goats. A few years later I started showing heifers, and I kept it up until I was 21. You can imagine how much I love the stock show! Yes, I said stock show. Don’t get me wrong, I love the rodeo, but Houston’s rodeo is more of a concert with a rodeo opener. I’m partial to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo.

If you think you don’t have anything western in your closet, you’re probably wrong. Pro Tip: put on a felt hat and some boots and call it western.

A graphic tee and bell bottoms. I feel like this look says I’m trendy and ready to have a good time. This is the most comfortable outfit I have ever put together (all two pieces of it, haha). These pants are Show Me Your Mumu, and they’re so perfectly stretchy. I actually bought them second-hand from Poshmark! Milton’s holiday work party was 70’s themed and these were part of my costume. We went to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and all of the girls were wearing bell bottoms. Perfect! Now I’ll get plenty of wear out of these.

I am so mad that I forgot to put a belt on before I took this photo. A belt would have pulled the whole look together. I wore this outfit to the FWSSR. I might have been a little cold but I love this duster. It is just the right amount of drama. My top is a black bodysuit. I’m in a medium. I never thought I would like a bodysuit, but this one has a flattering fit (imo).
