I shared my nightly skincare routine a while back, but today I’m sharing the summer version. Since my last skincare post I have found an even better night cream, a lotion that smells even better, and a tinted moisturizer that saves me so much time when getting ready!

Sunscreen
Even before I lived in Galveston I made sure to apply sunscreen before spending any amount of time in the sun. Now that I live near the beach I find myself outdoors more often than ever before. And that is not just on the weekends, I spend lots of time outside at work as well.
I always use a minimum of SPF 30. Rumor has is that anything over SPF 45 is fake news. I’m no scientist, so don’t mark my words, but here’s what WedMD says. Milton and I keep spray sunscreen in our cars and in the apartment. I always put my sunscreen on inside. I don’t want to risk the wind blowing my sunscreen away before it hits my skin.
Tinted Moisturizer with SPF
I know I can’t be the only one that doesn’t do full makeup for work every day. Cue tinted moisturizer. I’ve recently been using one by Neutrogena, and it saves me so much time in the morning. I just wish it wouldn’t sweat off so easily. Does sport tinted moisturizer exist? Should I invent it?
Body Lotion
I religiously apply lotion to my entire body each night when I get out of the shower. If I don’t do it I can’t sleep because my legs start to itch if they’re too dry. I’ve even gotten Milton applying lotion most nights. I typically stick with a standard body lotion for the summer, but recently Milton insisted on getting an “After Sun” lotion. I tried to explain to him that the term “after sun” is just marketing…it does the same thing as a regular lotion, but he wouldn’t let it go. I have to admit though, this stuff smells so good.
Night Cream
I’ve shared before a night cream that I bought on birchbox.com. It was the first night cream I had ever tried, and I liked it okay, but it made me break out. Too much moisture I suppose. So I fell victim to the tv ads for Neutrogena’s Rapid Wrinkle Repair cream. Verdict: I really like it. I put it on every night before bed, right after I dowse my entire body in lotion. I know the sun does a number on my face, so I’m doing everything I can to protect it.
This stuff smells good, and doesn’t make my face feel greasy. There’s a nice little burning sensation after applying it that lets me know the retinol formula is working.
Hats
I have a container in closet dedicated to hats. I love hats. My mom put me in hats for church every Sunday, and now I wear hats any time I go to the beach or jog outside. I want to minimize wrinkles on my face as much as possible! Sure, the rest of my body gets more tan than my face, but that’s what make and self-tanner is for.
