I started writing my random coffee topics in this post and realized they were all from last weekend’s trip to Austin. So this is essentially my weekend recap. Most of these stories are mom related, because I’m always experiencing new things and put in new situations being a first-time mom. It is amazing how being a mom shifts your focus, and not just from yourself to your child, but in so many other ways.

Shopping with a stroller
On our way to Austin I stopped at Katy Mills Mall to find an outfit for the party we were going to. I went into Express and found a cute dress, but had to try it on before buying it. When I walked up to the dressing rooms, another mom and her daughter (about 8 years old) were in front of me. The mom asked for the largest fitting room. She did not see me behind her (with a stroller, mind you) and I totally understand wanting the larger fitting room. The employee actually denied her and told her she’d be giving that dressing room to me since I had a stroller. This seems so simple, but it honestly made my day. The fact that the employee had the foresight to see the larger fitting room would benefit me more was honestly so nice.
I’m a SAHM
Saturday night after our friends’ engagement party the group went to a bar to watch the Astros game and college football. Naturally, the boys were watching the games while the girls chatted. Some random guy decides he’s going to try to insert himself into our conversation. He begins asking us what we “do”. When he got to me I said, “I stay at home with my daughter.” Apparently this answer wasn’t good enough for him so he asked me again, “…but what do you do? Like for a living.” Ha, this is going to be good. So I simply repeated myself, “I stay at home with my daughter.” This ignorant response was entertaining to me, because that’s just it…it was so ignorant.
My Love/Hate Relationship with Poshmark
I’ve talked about Poshmark on Instagram before. I love the idea. I have some great clothes (IMO) that I cycle through. Making a little cash from my clothes is ideal, considering most of them are gently worn and in good shape. I hang dry almost everything…thanks, mom. However, I feel like there are more sellers than buyers on the platform. It’s like Instagram…every other account is a blog (insert laughing so hard I’m crying face). Typically, every time I am getting rid of clothes I am doing so because we are moving. My goal is to get the clothes out of my way! Poshmark doesn’t really accomplish that goal. When you list something you’ve gotta be able to hold onto it for a little while until someone comes along and makes an offer. Then they’re going to lowball your listed price, and when you finally sell it you spend all of your earnings on gas to drop it off at the post office. All of that being said, I’m giving Poshmark another go. The stuff I have listed is slightly random, but I do have a brand new pair of booties on there that are worth checking out if your foot is a size 8.5/9 lol. Check out the rest of my closet here.
Caroline looks like me just a little bit
There’s no denying that Caroline favors her father quite a bit. I did find a photo of myself as a baby that looks a lot like her, and in a desperate attempt to prove that Caroline looks like me just a little bit…I put it side by side with a picture of her. Here it is.
