Today marks 365 days of marriage to Milton, our first wedding anniversary. I’ve been anticipating this post for a while. I have shared a lot about our marriage and our journey through life thus far. However, I wasn’t really sure where to even start with this post. When looking for inspiration I went back and read the letters that I wrote to my parents to give them on my wedding day. I remember exactly where I was when I wrote them…soaking in my bathtub upstairs at their house. I want to share a little snippet of the letter that I wrote to my dad.
“There were a few moments when I knew Milton had the potential to be my husband. One in particular was when he asked me if I was “down with the Lord”. I answered yes, of course, and he replied, “Cool, Samp is down with the Lord too.” Even though his answer was in third person, I knew he was serious. I learned in a sermon from Austin Stone that marriage is an earthly example of God’s love for his children. Milton and I have based our relationship on this belief. I have so much confidence in that.”
Ok! Enough of the sappy stuff! I want to take advantage of this post to share some of my favorite details from my wedding.
