I mentioned in a previous post that Keeping Up With The Kardashians is a guilty pleasure of mine. Sure, they can be a little much, but I’m fascinated by their lifestyle. At the same time, I’ve always had the mindset that these people don’t need a dime of my money to contribute to their fame and wealth. I have refused to spend on anything with the Kardashian/Jenner name on it, until recently…

When Kylie launched her cosmetic line girls went nuts over her stuff. I didn’t care. Lip kits?! HA! I’ll stick to my drugstore lip stains that work just fine. I held out for two strong years and finally caved when I asked a girlfriend what her stunning lipstick was… Kylie Cosmetics.

It wasn’t until the website was offering a free makeup bag with purchase that I caved. If there’s a chance to get a little more for my money I’m more likely to spend my money on something, duh. The cosmetic bag had KYLIE stitched in huge letters, so I’ll probably use it as a bag for emergency lady products (I always keep one in my car and at my desk at work).

I just recently started using lip liner and realized what a difference it can make with the overall look of your lipstick. I tend to over-line mine just a tad (remember when that’s what the Kardashians were saying Kylie did before admitting to lip fillers lol), and I’m kind of obsessed with that fuller look. When browsing the different lip products I knew I wanted a full lip kit and not just the gloss/lip color. I went with the Candy K Matte Lip Kit.

Here is my candid first impression of the product: I was annoyed at how much I liked it. As soon as I put the color on I loved it. The first time I wore it was to a beer tasting event and the lipstick never came off on my drink. That’s good stuff right there. Pro tip: for the best look with this product your lips need to be hydrated. Mine were a little dry and this made the color crack a little on my lips. I could probably make use of a good lip scrub.

I was chatting with my friend, Brittany, that convinced me to buy it and she had a great point. Kylie has enough money to use the best resources possible to come up with a good product. Talentless or not, she’s doing something right. I never thought I would say it, but I’m sold. Not sure if I’m ready to try other products yet, but this is my new favorite lipstick.

Update: Ulta is now carrying Kylie Cosmetics! There is a limited collection of colors available in store, so I highly suggest checking out your local Ulta. I have yet to buy a second color, but that’s just because I’m lazy and the nearest Ulta is like half an hour away. You won’t regret it. Here are some colors available online:
