Milton caught me throwing clothes on the floor the other day and asked me what the heck I was doing. I said, “I’m cleaning out all of the old clothes I don’t wear anymore.” He said, “Didn’t you just do that like two months ago?!” Clearly I am the only one in this house getting ready for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ve never quite taken full advantage of the NSale, so I’m doing everything I can to snag all of the hottest new stuff while its marked down. Yes, Nordstrom puts new items on sale for their anniversary sale.
Here are two things you need to know before the Nordstrom Anniversary sale:
Tip #1: Become a cardholder.
Become a Nordstrom cardholder by July 9th to gain early access to the sale. This is so key because a lot of must-have items sell out quick, sometimes before the sale even goes public. I’m not one to have many credit cards. I hate going to a store and being offered “X% off if you sign up for a card today.” No. I don’t need a stinking card for every store I go to. BUT, Nordstrom is one of those stores that I frequent more and more. You just can’t be the free shipping and free returns. So I caved and applied for a Nordstrom Visa card a few weeks ago. I received it in the mail in about a week, and now I’ll have access to the NSale on July 13th. Another plus, you get double points when shopping with your card at Nordstrom. Tip #2: Browse early.
I get so excited during sales that I can’t even focus and narrow down exactly what I want to spend my money on. I suggest browsing Nordy’s new website before the sale goes live to narrow down what you really can’t live without. That’s my shopping motto anyway: “Don’t buy it unless you HAVE to have it”. This just enforces a little self control. Anyway, I have started a wishlist on Nordstrom.com with the items I can’t live without. This puts them all in one place, and will make shopping the sale a breeze.
